Vet Care
Finding a good veterinarian for your cat is the same important as finding a good doctor for yourself. If you live not far away from us we will give you a list of recommended by us hospitals. Otherwise ask your friends, relatives if they know good vet clinics in your area.
Vaccinations is something that is very important to do to provide a good health for your cat. Keep it current. The main vaccination are FVRCP (upper respiratory, panleukopenia and calici virus) and rebies. We do not recommend doing FeLV and FIP vaccination. All our cats were tested negative for Feline Leukemia. And if your cat doesn't go outside (which we restrict in our contract), there is no need in FeLV vaccination. As for the FIP vaccine, it has been proven that it's not effective. And in many cases it has made the cat more susceptible to the disease.
Here are some parameters that you should learn to be able to determine when your cats is doing good and when she has some problems with her health:
|
Temperature |
100.5 to 102.5 F |
|
Weight |
7 to 12 lbs |
| Heart
Rate |
240 beats/minute |
| Pulse
Rate |
110 to 130 beats/minute |
|
Respiration |
20 to 30 breaths/minute |
To take your cat's temperature we recommend using electronic thermometer. Put some Vaseline on the end of the thermometer, ask somebody else to help you to hold the kitty, and carefully insert the thermometer into the anus. Thermometer starts beeping when the temperature is taken. Compare it with the parameters above. And if it's not normal, call your veterinarian.
